Facing lockdowns, lawlessness and public cancel as a small business owner in 2020, Ben founded Free Oregon, Inc. a non-partisan public benefit company with the mission of defending the civil rights. He inspired more than 20,000 Oregonians to participate in the political process. Together, they changed the direction of Oregon’s politics from the ground up.

Linthicum sponsored the Greater Idaho bill in the Oregon Senate on January 10, 2023, which would move the border between Idaho and Oregon to follow the Cascade Range. This would make 15 counties currently in Eastern Oregon part of Idaho.
